Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of boat is it?

It’s a trimaran — which means it has three hulls instead of one (like a monohull) or two (like a catamaran). It’s super stable, spacious, and great for folks who want to sail without feeling cramped or tippy. Basically: smooth sailing, plenty of room to relax.

What is the cost?

Minimum 2 hour tours up to 6 people will be $425. Each additional hour is $125/hr.

How many people can come aboard?

We can comfortably host up to 12 guests per charter. It’s cozy, uncrowded, and just the right size for a fun, relaxed sail with your crew.

For groups larger than 6, there is a $100/per person charge + an additional $25 fuel fee.

Where do we board?

We’ll send you all the boarding details once you book — we’re docked on Wilmington Island (about halfway between downtown Savannah and Tybee), and we’ll make it easy to find us (and park!).

Can we swim?

Depending on the charter type and conditions, yes! Just let us know ahead of time if you’re hoping to hop in, and we’ll plan accordingly.

Swimming option is only available on 3 hour or longer tours.

Can we bring food and drinks?

Yes, please do! BYOB is welcome — bring your favorite snacks, drinks, and cooler if you’d like. We’ll have water and snacks onboard, but feel free to stock up on your faves.

Is it family-friendly?

Definitely. Families love coming out for an afternoon sail, and we welcome little ones (with life jackets, of course). Just let us know the ages of any kids ahead of time so we can be prepared.

What should we wear?

Whatever you’d wear to the beach! Bathing suits, coverups, hats, and sunscreen are all great choices. Shoes aren’t needed once you’re aboard — barefoot is best!

Will I get seasick?

Most guests find the ride very smooth. The trimaran design keeps the boat stable, and we usually stay in calmer waters. If you’re extra sensitive, we suggest taking motion sickness medicine ahead of time, just in case.

Do you offer private charters only?

Yep — every charter is private, so the boat is all yours during your sail. Whether it’s a romantic sunset or a party with your people, it’s your time to enjoy.

What happens if it rains?

We keep a close eye on the weather. If it looks unsafe or just plain miserable, we’ll work with you to reschedule or issue a full refund. We want your time on the water to be fun — not soggy.

Can we play our own music?

Yes! We have Bluetooth speakers onboard, so feel free to bring your playlist and set the vibe.

Is tipping expected?

Tips are never required but always appreciated. If you had a great time and want to show your thanks, gratuity typically ranges from 15–20% of your charter. Cash or Venmo is welcome!

Can we take photos during the sail?

Of course! Snap away — the boat and the views make for amazing photos. We’re also happy to grab a few shots of your group if you want everyone in the frame. Want to bring a pro photographer for a shoot? Just give us a heads-up when booking! Be sure to tag @shore_thing_sav on Insta!
